Semistability and Restrictions of Tangent Bundle to Curves
We consider all complex projective manifolds X that satisfy at least one of the following three conditions: (1) There exists a pair (C , φ), where C is a compact connected Riemann surface and φ : C −→ X a holomorphic map, such that the pull back φ∗TX is not semistable. (2) The variety X admits an étale covering by an abelian variety. (3) The dimension dimX ≤ 1. We prove that the following class...
متن کاملScholten Forms and Elliptic/Hyperelliptic Curves with Weak Weil Restrictions
In this paper, we show explicitly the classes of elliptic and hyperelliptic curves of low genera dened over extension elds, which have weak coverings , i.e. their Weil restrictions can be attacked by either index calculus attacks to hyperelliptic curves or Diem's recent attack to non-hyperelliptic curves. In particular, we show how to construct such c o v erings from these curves and analyze de...
متن کاملOn the Logarithmic Connections over Curves
We study two different actions on the moduli spaces of logarithmic connections over smooth complex projective curves. Firstly, we establish a dictionary between logarithmic orbifold connections and parabolic logarithmic connections over the quotient curve. Secondly, we prove that fixed points on the moduli space of connections under the action of finite order line bundles are exactly the push-f...
متن کاملHolomorphic Connections on Filtered Bundles over Curves
Let X be a compact connected Riemann surface and EP a holomorphic principal P–bundle over X , where P is a parabolic subgroup of a complex reductive affine algebraic group G. If the Levi bundle associated to EP admits a holomorphic connection, and the reduction EP ⊂ EP × P G is rigid, we prove that EP admits a holomorphic connection. As an immediate consequence, we obtain a sufficient condition...
متن کاملNew connections between moving curves and soliton equations
Lamb has identified a certain class of moving space curves with soliton equations. We show that there are two other classes of curve evolution that may be so identified. Hence three distinct classes of curve evolution are associated with a given integrable equation. The nonlinear Schrödinger equation is used to illustrate this explicitly.
